This paper proposes a new way to measure International Economic Integration through the construction of a new composite index.It discusses the importance of its components and compares it to other indexes that have been developed recently.Often,International Economic Integration is understood as globalisation.This paper distinguish both concepts and the different stages of IEI.The indicators used to construct the index acknowledge IEI as a positive endeavor resulted from common efforts of the countries.The index adds more spectrums of International Economic Integration with new focus on Monetary and Fiscal Integration.It accounts with 39 countries-the OECD and the BRICS-and covers the period 2006-2015.Then it analysis some trends for that period,with emphasis on the impact of the global crisis of 2008 on both the individual and World economies.
