The Spillover Effect Of FDI On The Technological Progress Of Equipment Manufacturing Industry

For 30 years since China's reform and opening up,equipment manufacturing has occupied a decisive position in the national economic construction.However,in some areas,as a capital-intensive equipment manufacturing industry,its capital-intensive characteristics are particularly prominent during its growth period.Domestic funds It is often unable to meet the capital requirements of the equipment manufacturing industry.At this time,foreign direct investment is supplemented by domestic capital and gradually absorbed by domestic economic development.At the same time,as the largest destination country for attracting foreign investment from abroad,China's domestic and foreign scholars mainly have two views in terms of absorptive capacity.One is that the greater the technological gap between the host country and the country,the greater the technological progress of the host country.It is the host country's absorptive capacity that is affected by the threshold value.Only when it reaches the threshold,can it produce a technology spillover effect.Therefore,taking the equipment manufacturing industry as the background,this paper examines the relationship between the threshold based on regional innovation capability and the empirical spillover effect of technology,which has important practical significance and theoretical significance.This paper selects the equipment manufacturing panel data of 30 provincial administrative units from 2005 to 2014,applies threshold-regression analysis model and total factor productivity measurement method,and empirically tests the regional innovation ability of the entire country,eastern region,central region,and westernregions.The threshold effect of technology spillover,and on this basis explored the reasons for the technological spillover effect of equipment manufacturing.Through empirical research,it is found that at the national level,based on regional innovation capacity as a threshold variable,technology spillovers in the equipment manufacturing industry have two ripple effects.As the regional innovation capacity increases,the technology spillover in the equipment manufacturing industry decreases from negative to positive.Promote,and its promotion function is weakening with the improvement of regional innovation ability;From the regional level,the technology spillover effect of equipment manufacturing industry presents significant regional differences.The threshold effects of the eastern,central and western regions have their own characteristics: under the threshold of regional innovation capacity,the technology spillover effect of foreign-funded enterprises in the equipment manufacturing industry in the eastern region has turned from negative to positive;the promotion effect in the central region has gradually increased,while that in the western region has increased.The promotion effect gradually weakened.
