The Influence Of Trade Opening On Chinese Residents' Consumption

Consumption is the basic function of human survival and development.The party's 19 report proposes to "improve the mechanism of promoting consumption system and enhance the basic role of consumption on economic development." Although the level of consumption of residents in some areas has improved,the sustainable development of the economy has been promoted.But on the whole,the contradiction of domestic demand is still a structural obstacle to the sustainable development of China's economy at present.With China's accession to the WTO,China's trade openness gradually expanded,trade opening not only helps China's economy to achieve more than 30 years of rapid growth,but also enable residents to buy more diversified goods,greatly enriched and satisfied the growing material and cultural needs of our people.But on the whole,the contradiction of domestic demand is still a structural obstacle to the sustainable development of China's economy at present.With China's accession to the WTO,China's opening up gradually expanded,trade opening not only to help China's economy to achieve more than 30 years of rapid growth,but also to enable residents to buy more diversified goods,greatly enriched and satisfied the growing material and cultural needs of our people.Therefore,it is of great practical significance to study the influence of trade opening on the growth of Chinese residents ' consumption,so as to strengthen the macro-control of consumption,promote the balanced growth of residents'consumption and promote the overall coordinated development of national economy.Firstly,this paper analyzes the theoretical conduction mechanism of trade opening to residents'consumption.Secondly,this paper expounds the current trade opening and consumption status of China by using the statistic data,in order to further demonstrate the mutual influence between trade opening and residents consumption,select the provincial panel data of China for 2001-2016 years,On the one hand,the two-stage least squares estimation(2SLS)is used to examine the relationship between trade openness and household consumption rate.On the other hand,from the perspective of residents ' consumption structure,by dividing the consumption expenditure of Chinese urban residents into 8 categories,this paper empirically analyzes the influence of trade openness on the consumption expenditure of all kinds of urban residents.The research shows that:from the whole country,the openness of trade and the consumption rate of residents have a U-shaped relationship.The openness of trade in the eastern and central areas has a significant positive impact on residents 'consumption rate,and the influence of trade openness on residents ' consumption in the West is positive,but not significant.The rapid urbanization level in the eastern region has significantly reduced the consumption rate of residents,while the urbanization level in the middle and western regions has significantly increased the consumption rate of residents.In addition,the trade opening has a significant effect on the consumption expenditure of all kinds of urban residents,and the consumption structure of different regions is obvious.Finally,from the active participation in the multilateral trading system,speed up the transformation of foreign Trade Development Mode,local conditions to plan the industrial layout,and put forward countermeasures or suggestions.
