Compared with active investment, the indexed investment,as a passive investment, has the advantages of high stability, low risk, and low transaction cost, and has gained increasing attention. The research on foreign indexed investment is relatively mature. It has a complete theoretical system and rich practical experience. The studies have also achieved good results.Domestic index investment started late, and there are still many problems. The index variety is not rich enough, and the legal supervision system is not perfect.Under the premise of accurately understanding the meaning of indexed investment, the present study innovatively introduced the concept of tracking error applied to the stock market into the domestic commodity futures market, and combines the characteristics of commodity futures to construct a model of indexed investment of commodities.Through a process of product selection, weight design, and dynamic month change,a tracking portfolio model that reflects real and effective market information was innovatively constructed and an empirical study was conducted on the indexed investment model, resulting in a tracking portfolio and goals.Based on the results of the study, four performance evaluation indicators were used to evaluate the performance of the domestic commodity indexed investment model, and we concluded that the domestic commodity futures market can be applied to optimize the indexed investment model. This study can provide feasible advice for the development of domestic commodity indexed investment. Finally, according to the empirical process, the problems existing in China's commodity indexed investment found in the design process are summed up,and future development proposals are proposed for the problems.
