With the development of science and technology and social demand,electronic products have great in influence of almost all aspects of human production and life.Therefore,developing an optimal warranty service strategy for electronic products has become one of the important tasks for manufacturers.This thesis focusses on the electronic products with fast price corrosion and frequent update of generations.It is general that there are always overlaps on the sales and warranty process between different generations.This thesis deals with the warranty service method of old generation production after new generation products launched and aims to minimum the warranty cost of old generation products through the warranty service method design and optimization.Based on the traditional maintenance of consumer electronic products,we propose a new strategy of replacing the old failure products with new generation products.On the one hand,the number of claims for old generation products decrease as sales volume decreases.On the other hand,manufacturing costs for new generations of products decrease as well.Therefore,after the end of production of old generation products,it is more cost-effective for the new replace strategy than the traditional repair strategy.The most important innovation of this thesis is to find an optimal time for manufacturers to switch the warranty service method to the replace strategy.This method can minimum the warranty cost as well as improve customer satisfaction.Basic model only considers the optimal time to switch warranty strategy,while the preference of customers is considered in extend research.And the model of warranty cost change from single variable into two decision variables.The discount is added to promote customers to change the warranty strategy into the replace strategy.Considering the different preferences for two generations of products of customers,manufacturers should enhance their options for two generations of products.Aim to find the most optimal method to solve the bivariate model,this thesis provides four different decision-making methods: static association decision,static independence decision,dynamic local optimal decision and dynamic global optimal decision.Moreover,the results and analysis of these four methods are proposed.Finally,the numerical experiments and sensitivity analysis are also considered.The numerical experiments make the simulation of the optimal warranty strategy switch time based on specific parameters and make the comparison of four decision-making methods.In addition,the sensitivity analysis of parameters proposes the impact of different demand parameters and cost parameters on the optimal decision variables and the total cost.
