Surface plasma polaritons could manipulate the electromagnetic field in subwavelength scale,and therefore,diffraction limit could be broken in these structures.Magneto-plasmons,possessing both magnetic and plasmonic properties,which could be controlled by external magnetic field,have been one of the hot research issues in home and overseas.Magneto-optical Kerr effect,based on the analysis of polarization states before and after the interaction between light and materials,can be used to basic research technique and characterization of magneto-optical devices.Magnetooptical Kerr effect is sensitive to magneto-plasmons,and also can be modulated by magnetoplasmons.With magneto-plasmons,novelty magneto-optical materials have been fabricated and device with high performances have been made.But,magneto-optical devices with high sensitivity,compact volume,and information conglomerate are necessary to meet the technology development.We would study the magneto-optical Kerr effect in magneto-plasmons structures from two aspects.1.The characterization of non-diagonal elements of permittivity based on magneto-optical Kerr effect measurement.Non-diagonal elements of permittivity are important magneto-optics parameters,which can characterize performances of magneto-optical devices.Deducing the value of non-diagonal is the prime for high performance magneto-optical device setup.One calculation method is built based on the magneto-optical Kerr rotation and ellipticity measurement,and checked by nonmagnetic film Ag and magnetic film Ag/Co,which fabricated through sputtering.We obtained both diagonal and non-diagonal elements of them.We inspected the method deduced by optical properties calculation using formula ???.Finally,it is inferred from the analysis and calculation that the magneto-optical Kerr effect in Co/Ag films comes from the plasma absorption edge of Ag.2.Magneto-optical Kerr effect modulated by different magneto-plasmons.The samples Ag/PSS/Fe/Ag magneto-plasmon nanostructure were fabricated using angle dependence of film deposition onto polystyrene nanosphere self-assembled template.The Kerr rotation spectra demonstrated different behavior for samples with deposition angle ?=0° and ?=30°,but the reflection spectra showed the same behavior.The coupling of WRA with different surface plasmons were revealed through electromagnetic field distribution simulation using commercial software FDTD solution,narrow and high-intensity Kerr rotation peaks were assigned to the coupling of WRA and magneto-plasmon at Rayleigh's cut off wavelength.The narrow and high polar MOKR study might pave the way to new physics discovery and high performance MO devices designation.
