Belt conveyor is a kind of continuous transportation equipment in modern production.It has the advantages of large volume,long distance,low energy consumption,low freight and high efficiency.It is the main tool of industrial transportation and widely used in coal,mine,port,electric power and other fields.In the production process of belt conveyor,on the one hand,it is necessary to measure material transportation;on the other hand,in order to save energy,it is necessary to use frequency conversion technology to adjust the speed of belt conveyor according to instantaneous coal flow.Therefore,the detection of coal flow rate of belt conveyor is of great significance.However,the current common coal flow detection methods of belt conveyor,such as electronic belt scales,nuclear scales and ultrasonic rangefinders,are inadequate in accuracy and safety.In this thesis,a design scheme of coal flow detection in the monitoring system of belt conveyor based on laser ranging principle is presented.The transverse contour data of conveyor belt surface and coal flow are collected by laser ranging instrument.The data are transmitted to the monitoring system of belt conveyor through ethernet.The upper computer of the monitoring system processes the data and calculates the coal flow in real time by using the algorithm of coal flow detection.A coal flow detection algorithm based on laser ranging principle is presented.The data collected by laser ranging instrument are fitted by least squares polynomial curve fitting algorithm.The area integral method is used to calculate the transverse contour area of coal on conveyor belt,and the coal flow is calculated by combining the density of coal and the running speed of conveyor belt.The coal flow of conveyor belt is detected by TCP/IP protocol.The communication protocol between laser rangefinder and host computer is established,and the communication software is compiled to realize the communication between laser rangefinder and host computer.The upper computer software of coal flow detection in the monitoring system of belt conveyor is compiled in C#language,and the coal flow detection of belt conveyor is realized.The experimental platform of coal flow detection in the monitoring system of belt conveyor based on laser ranging principle is built.The experimental results show that the scheme and algorithm of coal flow detection can realize the real-time detection of coal flow of belt conveyor,meet the demand of coal flow detection in the monitoring system of belt conveyor,and have the advantages of high accuracy and reliability.The coal flow detection technology studied in this paper can be used in the monitoring system of belt conveyor based on ethernet.It has the advantages of real-time,high accuracy,reliability and security.It has wide application prospects in coal,mine,port,power and other fields.It has high application value for improving the automation level and production efficiency of coal mine production.
