With the rapid development of economy, the pollution caused by various types of oil spills to water resource and the ecological environment has been increased. In order to effectively reduce the harm caused by the oil pollution,it is of great value to carry out research on the preparation and application of high-efficiency oil-absorbing materials.Absorption by porous materials to treat oil contamination is considered to be one of the more economical and effective methods.Excellent oil-absorbing materials should have excellent buoyancy, high absorption capacity, low cost, reusability or biodegradability.However,oil-absorbing materials such as modified polyurethane, cellulose aerogel and carbon sponge have limited the wide application of their products due to their complicated processing and high cost. There are relatively few studies that can achieve rapid preparation of adsorbents. In this work,an efficient and low-cost method was provided for the rapid preparation of porous polyamide, and the obtained product could be used as an oil adsorbent. In addition, the material was modified with adsorption property and hydrophobic modification. Finally,an efficient oil absorbing material with low price, simple process, high adsorption capacity, fast adsorption rate, recycling and selective adsorption was obtained. In this work,a porous polyamide 6(PA-6)material was prepared by a facile solution foaming strategy. In this approach, sodium carbonate(SC)aqueous solution acted as the foaming agent that reacted with formic acid(FA),generating CO2 and meanwhile causing phase separation of PA.The influence of PA/FA solution concentration and Na2CO3 concentration on the microstructures and physical properties of prepared PA foams were investigated respectively.Secondly, the adsorption properties of the porous PA6 were improved by blending organic montmorillonite. The effects of organic montmorillonite percentage on the properties of the foams were characterized by scanning electron microscope, differential scanning calorimetry. It was found that the increase of the proportion of organic montmorillonite increased the adsorption capacity up to?203%,at which the sample had the highest adsorption capacity to the vacuum mechanical pump oil(22.1g/g).Finally,the PA/OMMT foams were hydrophobically modified by soaking methyltrichlorosilane/n-hexane solution. The influence of methyltrichlorosilane concentration and soaking time were studied. The results showed that the hydrophobicity of the material increased with the increase of methyltrichlorosilane concentration and dip coating time. However, when the concentration of methyltrichlorosilane exceeds 0.5%,the structure of PA foams was destroyed. To ensure the hydrophobicity of the material and saving resources, the optimum methyl trichlorosilane concentration and soaking time were 0.5%and of 20 minutes respectively.
