In this paper,the effect of microwave on the sintering properties of Al2O3/TiC ceramic cutting tool materials were investigated.The distribution of electric field in rectangular resonator and specimen under different sintering position was studied,and the changes of mechanical properties and microstructure morphology of Al2O3/TiC ceramic cutters at different sintering positions were investigated and analyzed,the optimum sintering position of alumina based ceramic cutters by microwave sintering is determined.The effects of different amount of SiC on the mechanical properties and microstructure of Al2O3/TiC ceramic cutters were systematically investigated,based on the good high-temperature dielectric properties of ZrO2,the effect of SiC/ZrO2 composite burying powder on the mechanical properties of alumina-based cerarmic cutting tools was studied on the basis of the optimum amount of SiC burnt powder.The optimum proportion of SiC/ZrO2 burying powder was determined and the comprehensive mechanical properties of alumina-based ceramic cutting tools were further improved.Through continuous cutting hardened 40 Cr alloy steel,cutting performance of alu-mina-based ceramic cutting tools at different depth of cut.Through the sintering test,it is determined that when the height of the sample is 6.0mm,the comprehensive mechanical properties of the material are the best.Through the simulation of HFSS electric field simulation software,the electric field distribution inside the material at different sintering positions is analyzed.The results show that the electric field distribution is uniform and the electric field intensity is 7.0×103 V/m at the sintering height of 155 mm.Mic-rowave sintering test showed that the material also has good mechanical properties under the sintering height of 155 mm,Vickers hardness and fracture toughness reached 19.82 GPa and 6.86 MPa·m1/2,respectively.And based on HFSS electric field simulation software to simulate and analyze the distribution of electric field in different materials with different amounts of SiC powder,the results show that when the content of SiC powder is 44.0 g,the distribution of electric field inside the material is uniform and the electric field intensity is large,which is 7.0×103 V/m.Through the actual experiment of microwave sintering,it is found that the mechanical properties of the material are relatively good and the internal grains are evenly distributed when the amount of SiC powder is 44.0 g,the density reaches 97.9%,the Vickers hardness and fracture toughness are 19.82 GPa and 6.86 MPa·m1/2.The effects of the different proportions of SiC/ZrO2 powder on the mechanical properties of AT ceramic tool were investigated experimentally under the total amount of burying powder of 44.0 g.The results show that when the ratio of SiC:ZrO2 is 1:3,the composite of Al2O3/TiC ceramic tool material The mechanical properties are the best,the density reaches 98.3%,the fracture toughness and Vickers hardness are 7.02 MPa·m1/2 and 20.06 GPa respectively.And microwave sintering power compared to pure SiC burial decreased,the material within the grain distribution is more uniform.The cutting performance of continuous cutting hardened 40 Cr alloy steel with that mec-hanical properties were improved Al2O3/TiC ceramic tool was experimentally studied.When v=173 m/min,f=0.1 mm/r,ap=0.2 mm,the cutting distance was the longest,up to 4400 m;When the cutting depth increases to ap=0.5 mm,the Al2O3/TiC ceramic tool breaks failure.When v=260 m/min,f=0.1 mm/r and ap=0.2 mm,the cutting distance of the material is the longest,reaching 3100 m.When the cutting depth increases to ap=0.4 mm,the breakage failure of Al2O3/TiC ceramic tool occurs.In the continuous cutting of hardened 40 Cr alloy steel,the main forms of Al2O3/TiC ceramic tool wear are flank wear,rake wear and boundary wear.The wear mechanisms are mainly bond wear,abrasive wear and diffusion wear.
