The demand for fiber materials is increasing in production and life.The raw materials of chemical fiber materials are mostly from the by-products of the petroleum industry.Nowadays,with the increasingly tense oil resources,it is urgent to find new environmental protection materials.The development and utilization of marine resources provide a breakthrough for solving this problem.The new seaweed fiber has good antibacterial and flame-retardant properties,and the industrialized production of alginate fiber has been realized.As a new kind of new environment friendly material,carrageenan fiber also has good performance,and its application prospect is very wide.At present,the high strength carrageenan fiber has been successfully prepared wit h barium chloride as the coagulation bath.Although the strength of the fiber is high,the barium ion has great pollution to the environment when dealing with the coagulating bath waste liquid.Considering the subsequent industrialized production of carrageenan fiber,in order to reduce the pollution to the environment,two kinds of salt solution of potassium chloride and calcium chloride were selected as the coagulation bath and stretching bath of carrageenan wet spinning and the new K-Ca carrageenan fiber was prepared.First of all,in order to replace the original barium chloride bath,three groups of carrageenan hydrometallurgical spun bath and stretching bath combinations were selected.Based on the analysis of three groups of carrageenan fiber coagulation bath solution state,fiber morphology and fiber strength,under the premise of ensuring the smooth spinning process,we choose the best combination of KCl-CaCl2 spinning,coagulation bath and stretching bath.A new type of K-Ca carrageenan fiber was prepared by the combination of new coagulation bath and stretching bath,and the fiber was characterized by SEM,tensile strength,water solubility,FTIR and elemental analysis.From the appearance,the fiber showed a white and soft form.The handle was similar to cotton fiber.The electron microscope pictures showed that the surface of the fiber was not smooth,the fiber section showed irregular rounded shape,and the breaking strength of the carrageenan fiber was not high,but the flexibility was good.The average fineness of the fiber decreases with the increase of the tensile ratio during the spinning process.The infrared spectrum shows that the structure of the new K-Ca carrageenan fiber is the same as the basic structure of the carrageenan material.The LOI value of the carrageenan fiber made from KCl-Ca Cl2 salt solution combin-ation bath is about 30-35.Thermogravimetric analysis shows that the fiber has high tem-perature resistance and is a good flame retardant material.The content of K and Ca elem-ents in KCl-CaCl2 carrageenan fibers is very small,while the content of Ba elements in BaCl2 carrageenan fibers is higher.The X-ray diffraction comparison showed that the diffraction results of K-Ca carrageenan fibers and carrageenan raw materials were not very different,and the diffraction peaks of new crystals were not increased.The chara-cteristic diffraction peaks of barium salts of Ba-Ba carrageenan fibers appeared at the positions of 24.2 and 38.5.Through the above phenomena,it is preliminarily conjecture that the two coagulation bath-stretching bath combinations have different fiber forming effects on carrageenan.
