The surface friction properties of fabrics mainly include the surface friction coefficient of fabrics and the surface roughness which are important mechanical characteristics for assessing the hand feeling of fabrics.Because of the structure,the domestic and foreign fabric surface friction performance testers have one or more of the following problems,including being unable to dynamically test the changes of positive pressure in real time or realize the polydirectional testing,single test index,poor accuracy and stability,and expensive imported equipment,all of which are important reasons restricting the assessment of the fabric hand feeling and the instrument performance improvement.Therefore,there is an urgent need for the fabric surface friction performance testers with the high stability,the high precision and the low cost.The mechanical test method is widely used at present.It measures the force required when two surfaces contact and have relative slippage under a certain contact pressure,and then the surface friction coefficient of the fabric can be calculated.In view of this,the subject develops a fabric surface friction performance test system on the basis of the principle of mechanical testing method,and this system includes the test module and the control module.The fabric is clamped on the positive pressure measuring equipment,and the friction measuring equipment tests driven by the friction measuring driving equipment,can dynamically test the changes of positive pressure in real time and conduct the polydirectional test.The test procedure can be controlled in real time with the measuring and control software in the control module and the friction coefficients,and the numerical values and changing curves of positive pressure and force of friction can be displayed simultaneously.The test results of the systematic error show that the effects of the external environment on the test data can be avoided when the plexiglass isolation hood is used.The test speed only affects the positive pressure data,and its fluctuation range is between 24.62cN-24.75cN.In the pure cotton fabric test,the change interval of the positive pressure is measured as between 24.52cN-24.85cN.The coefficient of variation(CV)of the fabric friction coefficient in different test speeds at the same time is less than 10%.After the five repeatability tests,the friction coefficients of the pure cotton,the polyester and the polyester fabric have slight fluctuations around 0.23,0.17,and 0.16,and the equipment has good stability and repeatability.Compared with influential KES-FB4 fabric style instrument test system which is widely used in the world,the friction coefficient curves of the pure cotton fabrics measured by the two instruments almost coincide,and the average value fluctuates slightly around 0.23.After five tests,the interblock CV of the surface friction coefficient of the fabric is only 0.88%.In the same test time,the friction coefficient is always around 0.23 as the test speed increases from 1 mm/s to 5 mm/s,and the friction coefficient is not affected by the test speed almost.The surface roughness of the fabric is characterized in the data processing method and the friction coefficient signals are handled with the wavelet analysis and the power spectrum estimation.The high-frequency section signals are obtained after the wavelet handling,and then the power spectrum estimation is used to handle this group of signals to obtain the roughness signals which are analyzed with the roughness signals measured by the KES-FB4 fabric style meter test system in correlation.The results show that the correlation coefficient is greater than 0.8 and the slope of the linear regression line is greater than 2,and it is proven that the data processing method and the KES-FB4 direct test method have a very high correlation.The instrument tested the change of positive pressure,and the friction coefficient value tends to be more stable than the friction coefficient value obtained by the KES-FB4 test.
