Dynamic Environment, Impromptu Strategy And Strategic Performance

Modern enterprises are facing the rapid development of technological change,competitive market environment,complex and unpredictable macro policies.Their external environment is in a highly dynamic change,almost unable to predict its change trend,with the characteristics of complexity and dynamic.Under the background of dynamic environment,if enterprises only rely on the original plan,management experience and organizational practices to operate,it may affect or even hinder the long-term development of enterprises,and even lead to the elimination of enterprises in the market competition.The uncertainty of the dynamic environment makes enterprises encounter a series of challenges in the process of operation,and improvisation strategy can help enterprises spontaneously coordinate various departments,integrate existing resources,and take creative actions to meet the challenges in time.However,there are few studies on the specific impact of improvisation on corporate strategic performance.In this paper,through a single case study of Yitai enterprise,we explore the path between improvisation strategy and strategic performance.According to the change of dynamic environment that Aetna group is facing,the development process of Aetna group is divided into three different stages,and the improvisation strategy adopted by the group in response to the change of dynamic environment is explored.At the same time,the impact of improvisation strategy on strategic performance is studied by using balanced scorecard.It is found that the dynamic change of external environment urges enterprises to adopt certain improvisation strategy,while the implementation of enterprise improvisation strategy alleviates the challenges brought by the change of dynamic environment,it can also form some unique competitive advantages in the process of operation,such as cost advantage,good corporate image,emerging business model and high-tech talents,and then It has a positive impact on financial performance,customer and market,internal operation,learning and growth.Improvisation strategy will bring positive effect to the long-term development of enterprises.This study may have some theoretical value to make up for the logical gap between improvisation strategy and strategic performance.And it may provide a theoretical reference for enterprises to deal with the dynamic environment changes.
