To meet the large needs of asymmetric warfare,wheeled tactical vehicles with high mobility need to be safe,which also requires the armor to be lightweight.The original heavy armored steel has been unable to meet the requirements.The vehicles need to armor a new type of lightweight composite armor.Based on the research on the mechanism of light composite armor bombardment,this paper analyze and design the light composite armor by the way of numerical simulation and experimental verification,forming a set of technology route to develop the light composite armor.In order to defend against the target of 7.62mm armor piercing incendiary,this case analyzes and designs lightweight composite armor with three materials including ceramic,bullet-proof steel and high-strength aluminum alloy.Firstly the mechanism of the rebound resistance of ceramic composite armor is studied,and the evaluation method,acceptance index and design principle of armor bulletproof performance are proposed.Then dynamic compression test and light gas gun test were conducted to get the dynamic mechanical performance parameters of the material.The shot test results of the standard samples were used to verify the accuracy of the numerical simulation.On this basis,the numerical simulation analysis of the panel materials,the backplane materials and the ceramic layers of the ceramic plate is carried out.It is found that steel as the panel is more effective at the initial stage of the projectile.The double-layer ceramic can effectively reduce the fragmentation of the outer layer,but also reduce the anti-ballistic performance of the whole ceramic layer.The aluminum alloy as the back plate can provide more rigidity to the ceramic plate and enhance the anti-armoring performance of the armor.The ceramic composite armor should be close to the body for greater rigidity support.According to the analysis results,an armor structure design scheme of aluminum alloy panel + single-layer ceramic panel + aluminum alloy back plate + body steel plate was proposed and optimized design was carried out.The article also analyzes and reinforces the weak area of the body and the armor.The connection structure between the armor and body were designed.And the adaptability of lightweight composite armor and body was analyzed.
