Due to the acceleration of urbanization in China and the limited resources of urban roads,it is increasingly difficult to rely solely on space to improve the operational efficiency of BRT systems,and BRT intersection bus signal control is a powerful means to resolve the delay of BRT vehicles.The stability and service level of BRT operation provide greater convenience for residents' travel and is of great significance for alleviating urban traffic congestion and advocating green travel.In this paper,using the theory of decision-making optimization and computer simulation,combined with the constitution and operational characteristics of China's BRT system,the signal control of the road-to-Chinese BRT single-point intersection is studied.A signal control optimization model was proposed for the problem of long waiting time for downstream passengers and large fluctuations in headway distance.Firstly,taking Guangzhou BRT as an example,on the basis of analysing the BRT system operating characteristics under the road-to-road flexible line operation mode,the headway time of three adjacent BRT vehicles,number of downstream passengers and non-BRT phase traffic saturation are criterions for the control of Bus Rapid Transit signals.Based on the analysis of the operating characteristics of the BRT system,the conditional combination design of these conditions is performed.Then,a specific signal control strategy was proposed for specific situational combinations.Based on the two "priority" measures of green light extension and red light shortening,two "suppression" strategies were proposed: red light extension and green light reduction.Then,with pedestrian crossing time and lane saturation as constraints,the area triangle method was used to determine intersection delays and a control model was constructed with the goal of minimum total delay.This model takes all vehicle passengers at the intersection into consideration,comprehensively analyzes the system's priority requests,and improves the overall network's benefit level.Finally,the signal control model was applied to the intersection of Tianhe Road and Tiyu East Road in Guangzhou.The simulation was performed through the VISSIM COM interface and Matlab program.The simulation results were compared and analyzed to verify the validity of the control model method.
