Accurately determining the position of an object is one of the key elements for people to interact well with the environment and surrounding objects.When we perceive the object space in daily life,sometimes some errors occur,such as the final event.The positional judgment will shift forward along the direction of motion of the object,which is representative momentum.From the first time that the representative momentum was proposed in 1984,many scholars have carried out related researches to explore the influencing factors,causes and mechanisms behind the representative momentum.The object will generate a representative momentum in the vertical drop motion,and also produce the implicit gravity effect,that is,the representation gravity,which is the psychological representation of the gravity of the individual’s inner heart,so the object motion is affected by the gravity of the earth.The influence of individual subjective perception of attraction may be the reason for representative momentum.This study will explore the momentum effect and the reasons behind it and the psychological mechanism through three experiments,which will provide a theoretical basis for the future positional judgment ability of the object in vertical motion.With the help of virtual flying scene,this study explored the difference of represented momentum in vertical falling motion of individuals through three experiments by changing the size,motion speed and significance of the stimulus material,as well as the reasons for the existence of representation momentum difference and the psychological mechanism behind it.In the experiment 1,the aircraft and the spherical icon were used as the stimulating materials to explore the difference of the representative momentum between the non-meaningful objects and the object of the aircraft’s movement,which was used as the relative objective judgment index of perceptual judgment(distance deviation).Using 2(aircraft size:large,small;spherical size:large,small)X 2(falling speed:constant speed,acceleration)X 7(detection position:-9,-6,-3,0,+3,+6,+9)experimental design;in the experiment2 in addition to aircraft and spherical icon,the earth surface was added to.Rating the falling process of the object,subjectively judging the magnitude of the attraction of the earth to the object and the causal degree of the object being caused by the earth.Adopted 2(aircraft size:large,small;spherical size:large,small)X 2(speed:constant speed,acceleration)experimental design;The experiment3 stimulating materials were the same as the second one,the meaningless objects and the object of the aircraft movement ended and fell into the ground,that is,after the established facts,the perceived attraction and causality were evaluated.Adopted 2(aircraft size:large,small;spherical size:large,small)X 2(speed:constant speed,acceleration)X 3(falling volume ratio:~10%,~50%,-90%)experimental design.The results of experiment 1 showed that the representational momentum of the large object,the accelerating moving object,and the meaningful object is significantly larger than that of the small object,the constant moving object,and the meaningless object.Experiment2 finds that the degree of causality and causality perceived by the large object,the object of accelerated motion,and the object of significance are greater.The results of the experiment3 found that when the object’s whereabouts have become a definite fact,the individual’s perceptual appeal and causal relationship to the large object,the accelerating movement object,and the meaningful object still have a higher rating.Based on the above experimental research results,the discussion of this study are as follows:(1)The object will produce the representational momentum effect in the falling process,and the size,velocity and conceptual properties of the object have a significant impact on the representational momentum.Large objects,accelerated motion,meaningful objects have greater representational momentum.(2)Under the influence of representational gravity,the individual’s perceived attractiveness and perceived causal relationship rating of the object in the falling process are affected by the object’s attributes.Compared with small objects,uniform motion objects and meaningless objects,individuals have more attraction to objects perceived by large,accelerated and meaningful objects,and think that the causal relationship between the motions of objects caused by the earth is greater.(3)In the objective world,objects with the same environment and physical attributes will fall to the ground at the same time,but in the subjective perception,there is a representation system in which objects with different sizes and meanings do not fall to the ground at the same time:big object,meaningful object will fall to the ground before small object and meaningless object.(4)The processing mechanism of representing momentum is automatic and pennanent.When the falling position of the stimulus object has been established,the individual still perceives the large object,the accelerated object and the significant object to represent the large momentum.
