Space Experiment Inspired By Louis Kahn's Construction Theory

The research on the theory of architectural construction has always been an enduring topic in the field of architecture.Louis Kahn has been discussing the theory of order in the theory of architectural construction all his life.One is the measurable architectural order of concrete,which divides geometry into different levels in spatial combination.It is a kind of physical order to discuss the different expressions of order in terms of subject-slave relationship,scale,opening and closing,and different materials.The other is the immeasurable construction of concrete Building order is to explore a kind of psychological order.It is deduced from light and structure.Natural light is introduced by the change of structure.Light is folded through structure to form indirect light source,so as to build psychological order.The thesis consists of four parts.The first part: To study the origin of the large use of geometric order in Louis Kahn’s architectural space,and to explore its architectural construction concept.The second part: analyze three kinds of different architectural spaces,think about how Kang combines geometry in tradition and modern times,uses geometry as the carrier to express form and structure,and forms his unique construction method of order language;the third part: explore the distinction and elimination of order,light logic and material in Louis Kang’s construction strategy,and the three main construction strategies Through the order theory.The fourth part: on the basis of the study of Louis Kahn’s construction,we carry out our own space experiment,and explore the design strategy of order,light and shadow,time and space.The Enlightenment of Louis Kahn’s construction theory is to combine the visible physical order with the invisible psychological order,pay attention to the relationship between architecture and human beings,and build a more cohesive architectural space.
