As the main part of organic nutrient production in crops,leaf area is not only an important index to measure crop growth and yield,but also the main basis for monitoring and cultivating crop diseases and insect pests.The determination of leaf area can provide reference for the study of plant characteristics and field management,can make rational use of land resources,and has guiding significance for agricultural production research.Therefore,this paper designs and implements an economical and convenient leaf area measurement system,which can collect crop leaf images on the spot by hand-held camera,and measure leaf area parameters nondestructively by image processing technology.Aiming at the problem that the measurement accuracy of the system decreases due to the image tilt distortion in the process of image capturing,this paper proposes a tilt distortion correction method based on grid calibration plate on the basis of the research of camera photography distortion model and correction registration algorithm,which can automatically correct the geometric distortion image.For the scene shooting measurement,the natural scene in the image is more complicated,and the target blade is not easy to accurately identify and segment from the image,this paper studies and compares the threshold segmentation methods,and finally decides to adopt the method of Otsu.The algorithm was optimized to realize image segmentation,and combined with mathematical morphology processing,the accuracy of leaf region extraction in the image was effectively improved.Through the measurement experiments of different shape calibrators,it is found that the measured value of the leaf area measurement system realized in this paper is not much different from the true value,with an average relative error of 1.99%.It is superior to the traditional measurement method and meets the actual needs.It reflects that the system has the characteristics of low cost,convenient use and reliable accuracy,and has certain practical application value.
