Construction Of Nosocomial Infection Prevention Training Content For ICU Visitors

ObjectiveBy means of literature study,semi structural interview and expert inquiry,the prevention knowledge and related skills of hospital infection for ICU visitation personnel are constructed.The purpose is to provide the basis and reference for the design and production of hospital infection prevention training materials for the ICU visitation personnel,and to provide a theoretical basis for the implementation of the training.MethodsBased on the guidelines,norms and documents of hospital infection prevention and control at home and abroad.Combining with the semi-structured interview which the theme about prevention and control of hospital infection for ICU visitors.The experts who are in the field of hospital infection management,clinical nursing,nursing education,and clinical nursing management were selected to evaluate the importance of each item for Delphi consultation.The average value of the entries was evaluated by>4,and the variation coefficient<0.25 was used as the screening principle for the entries in this study.Delete items that do not meet the selection criteria and that the study group agreed to the expert opinion after discussion.ResultsBased on literature study and semi-structured interview,after the discussion of questionnaire structure,integrity and language representation,the first round of expert questionnaire was formed.The questionnaire consisted of 3 level Ⅰ items,12 level Ⅱ items and 42 level Ⅲ items.After the first round,the 16 experts modified the names of the 2 level Ⅰentries,deleted 2 level Ⅱ entries and 19 level Ⅲ entries,added 1 level Ⅱ entry and five levelⅢ entries,and adjusted and revised one level Ⅱ entry and 2 level Ⅲ entries,resulting in the questionnaire for the second round.After the second round of expert inquiries,Ⅰlevel Ⅲentry is deleted and the others are not deleted.After two rounds of expert correspondence,the Kendall’s cooperation index of level Ⅰ,level Ⅱ and level Ⅲ entries was 0.56,0.60,0.42 and P<0.001,respectively.The recovery rate of the two questionnaires was 93.75%and 100%respectively,and the expert input ratio was 62.5%and 18.75%respectively.The expert’s authority coefficient is 0.89 and 0.92 respectively,all>0.70,the result of inquiry is reliable.The training was finalized for 3 level 1,11 level Ⅱ and 27 level Ⅲ entries.Level I entries include the overview of hospital infections,knowledge of visitation related behaviors,and items of attention.28 training sessions were produced into a training manual and a training video for ICU visitors on prevention of infection in hospitals.After the initial evaluation of the manual by 15 ICU visitors,the training manual and training video were revised and adjusted to form a final version.ConclusionsBy means of literature study,semi-structured interview formed the Delphi expert questionnaire.Through two rounds of inquiry,the "training content of ICU visitation staff hospital infection prevention" was constructed.This study combines the actual situation of ICU visiting staff to prevent and control hospital infection and the advice of experts.On the basis of the related hospital infection management guidelines,relevant regulations,the training content of ICU visiting staff to prevent and control infection is constructed.The training content include in 3 level Ⅰ,11 level Ⅱ and 27 level III entries.This study identified the knowledge and skills that ICU visitors need to know about hospital infection prevention.
