Objective To investigate the clinical significance of serum albumin levels in patients with secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(s HLH).Materials and methods The clinical and laboratory data of 93 patients with newly diagnosed s HLH in 2013.4 to 2017.5,and 20 healthy controls were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were classified as the clinical remission group and the progression group according to the response criteria. The serum albumin levels between LHLH group,non-MHLH group and the control group were compared, the changes of serum albumin levels in the clinical remission group and the progression group before and after treatment were compared, and the correlation between them and other indicators was analyzed. The relationship between serum albumin levels and survival was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Results ⑴The serum albumin levels in LHLH group and non-MHLH group were lower than that in control group(P<0.001,P<0.001);⑵The serum albumin levels in the clinical remission group after treatment was higher than that before treatment(P<0.001),while in the progression group that was not significantly different(P>0.05);⑶The serum albumin levels in newly diagnosed s HLH patients positively correlated with ANC,HGB(P<0.05);⑷The overall survival(OS)was significantly longer in patients with serum albumin levels≥25.2g/L(P=0.005).Conclusion The serum albumin levels possess a clinical significance in disease diagnosis, guiding therapy and treatment efficacy in the patients with s HLH.Objective To investigate the clinical significance of serum calcium concentrations in patients with secondary hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(s HLH).Materials and methods The clinical and laboratory data of 93 patients with newly diagnosed s HLH in 2013.4 to 2017.5,and 20 healthy controls were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were classified as the clinical remission group and the progression group according to the response criteria. The serum calcium concentrations between LHLH group,non-MHLH group and the control group were compared, the changes of serum calcium concentrations in the clinical remission group and the progression group before and after treatment were compared, and the correlation between them and other indicators was analyzed. The relationship between serum calcium concentrations and survival was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method. Results ⑴The serum calcium concentrations in LHLH group and non-MHLH group were lower than that in control group(P<0.001,P<0.001);⑵The serum calcium concentrations in the clinical remission group after treatment was higher than that before treatment(P<0.001),while in the progression group that was not significantly different(P=0.101);⑶The serum calcium concentrations in newly diagnosed s HLH patients positively correlated with ANC,PLT,HGB(P<0.05);⑷The overall survival(OS)was significantly longer in patients with serum calcium concentration≥1.88mmol/L(P=0.007).Conclusion The serum calcium concentrations possess a clinical significance in disease diagnosis, guiding therapy and treatment efficacy in the patients with s HLH.
