Purpose:Based on the statistical analysis of children with constipation in the outpatient department of the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine,this paper discussed the etiology and pathogenesis of children's constipation,the treatment of different syndrome types and prescriptions,and discussed the dialectical thinking of children's constipation in traditional Chinese medicine.Material and method:113 cases of constipation(functional constipation)were collected in Pediatrics Department of Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September 2016 to September 2018.According to the different symptoms,it could be divided into four different syndromes.The medication of different syndromes were observed,and the age,sex,course of disease,frequency of defecation,symptoms,syndromes,prescriptions,medication were statistically analyzed to explore the thinking of TCM treatment of constipation.According to the case,the author analyzed Professor Liu Fang's academic thought,diagnosis and treatment in the treatment of pediatric constipation Results:1.General situation:(1)Statistical analysis was made on different age stages.The analysis results showed that18 cases of infantile constipation(less than 3 years old),59 cases in pre-school age(3-7 years old)and 36 cases in school age(more than 7 years old).(2)The ratio of boys to girls was 57:56;(3)The onset time: within 1 years 58 cases,1-2 years 36 cases,3-4 years 17 cases,more than5 years 6 cases;(4)Defecation frequency: there were 61 cases with frequency of 1-2 days per time,46 cases with frequency of 3-4 days per time,and 6 cases with frequency of more than 5 days per time.(5)Among the different symptoms,105 cases had dry stool,81 cases had difficulty in defecation,54 cases had globular stool,50 cases had strip stool,and 9 cases needed Glycerine Enema to help defecate.2.Distribution of TCM syndromes:There are four types of constipation syndrome in outpatient children,62 cases of intestinal dryness constipation,20 cases of indigestion constipation,21 cases of Yin deficiency constipation and 11 cases of Qi deficiency constipation.3.Selected prescriptions:(1)The most frequently used prescriptions are Zengye Decoction,Xiaochengqi Decoction,Maziren Pill,Baohe Pill,Sijunzi Decoction.(2)Intestinal dryness constipation is mostly treated with Jia Jian Maziren Pill and Jia Jian Zengye Decoction.(3)Indigestion constipation is mostly treated with Jia Jian Baohe Pill and Jia Jian Sijunzi Decoction.(4)Yin deficiency constipation is mostly treated with Jia Jian Zengye Decoction and Jia Jian Xiaochengqi Decoction.(5)Qi deficiency constipation is mostly treated with Jia Jian Sijunzi decoction and Jia Jian Zengye Decoction.4.Professor Liu Fang's experience in treating constipation in children:(1)The main cause of solid constipation is children's febrile colon tract,and the spleen is often insufficient,"stomach strong and spleen weak",treatment should be based mainly on Maziren pills,with Zengye Decoction to moisten dryness.(2)The main causes of deficiency constipation are Yin deficiency of children's plain body,Yin does not restrain Yang,so the treatment should be mainly concentrated on Zengye Decoction,which is combined with Xiaochengqi Decoction to lighten heat accumulation.Conclusion:1.The prevalence of preschool children is higher.There is no significant difference between male and female.Dry stool and difficulty in defecation are the most common symptoms.2.Intestinal dryness constipation is the most common syndrome type.The most frequently used prescription is Zengye Decoction and Xiaochengqi Decoction.3.Professor Liu Fang's treatment of constipation in children is mainly based on the syndrome of spleen contraction,moistening dryness and diarrhea,deficiency syndrome of yin deficiencyand nourishing yin and clearing heat.
