As one of the most important painters in the world art history in the first half of the twentieth century,Morandi didn't widely dabble in multiple types of painting subjects, but independently had his research focused on static objects and sceneries. In particular,:he made extraordinary accomplishments in his oil paintings of static objects.Morandi created these oil paintings in distinctive patterns.Particularly, his works in style formation and maturity periods weren't only diverse combinations of diversified orders, but also reflections of his academic value. It will be highly inspiring for further exploring Morandi's works and contemporary creation tendencies by studying this topic.By widely reading and learning from previous research findings, lots of specific works are comparatively studied and analyzed based on personal visual experiences and unique views in this paper. For Morandi's works in the style formation and maturity periods, the patterns are hereby divided into seven categories, including subject-object,integrated,row-type,symmetric proportionate,overlook-type,mother-son type and graphic illusions, which are analogically discussed one by one.In addition, patterns of static objects in oil paintings of trial period, flowers and other themes are briefly analyzed.By orderly and elaborate classification and demonstration it is finally concluded that patterns of static objects have following characteristics in Morandi's paintings:agile subtle well-proportioned scenes, coordinated seemingly geometric images, graphic arrangement of scenes, orderly arrangements,gamut-based contrast/division and overall serene plain atmosphere. It was just because of these characteristics that contributed to unique painting styles of Morandi and his irreplaceably important position in the painting history of static objects.
