An Investigation Of The Marriage Of The Wu Jun Gentry In The Tang Dynasty

The purpose of this article is to investigate the marital status of the Wujun clans in the Tang Dynasty,discuss the four clans of Wujun:Wujun Lu clan,Wujun Gu clan,Wujun Zhu clan,Wujun Zhang clan,especially focusing on the most powerful Wujun Lu clan.Based on this,we will take a look at the intermarriage situation within Wujun great families,and try to view the "centralization" and the death of the monks in the Tang Dynasty from the perspective of marriage.First of all,the article observes Wujun Lu clan's branch official status,discusses the political performance of Wujun Lu clan's different families,and determines the development and political status in the Tang Dynasty.Secondly,we examine the marriage of different branches of Wujun Lu clan.In the early Tang Dynasty,Wujun Lu clan's strong family devoted itself to building a marriage ancestral family dominated by Wu clan,a relatively narrow marriage circle with obvious geographical features;from the Xuanzong dynasty,there was a change from south to north and more marriages with the northern gentry.In addition,the article also observes marriage of Wujun Gu clan,Wujun Zhu clan,Wujun Zhang clan respectively,and also have a tendency to choose northern clans in their choice of marriage.Research suggests that,firstly,the tendency of the northernization in the choice of the marriage gate reflects the "centralization" of the Wujun clans,and the transition phase of marriage tends to reflect the time when the family completed"centralization".Secondly,judging from the marital information of all the Wujun clans,the changes in the dynasty,changes in politics,and the rise and fall of the clans do not appear to have hindered the order of the marriage of the clans.However,it should be noted that under the prevailing situation of general internal marriage among the gentry,the local marriage disorder is accompanied by the gradual spread of the situation over time.The clan's marriage order is an important means of realizing this identity group of the clans,however once this order is broken,members from other groups gradually start to join.This reputation is diluted intangibly.
