The Integration Of Western Jazz Music And Chinese National Elements

The jazz music has been developing rapidly around the globe at this time in the music world,and it's style exerts tremendous influence on China's piano music creation.The music styles of Baroque Period,Classical Period and Romantic Age are more exposed in traditional Chinese piano teaching and learning processes,while lack of a deep understanding with the style of jazz music,and more gaps are left to fill in the piano performing techniques as well as piano teaching and learning.This paper takes the piano piece Jasmine Flower(adapted)as an example to explore its position and research values both at home and abroad through the historical development of jazz piano music and the creation of Chinese jazz music pieces,and analyzes the jazz elements embodied in the piano version of Jasmine Flower(adapted),and also summarizes the teaching and learning method as well as the performing techniques of the similar music pieces combined with learner's process of practicing and rehearsing.The thesis is also to explore how to integrate jazz with piano music pieces adapted from traditional Chinese folk tune,and set forth the new style of music creation to combine the western music elements with Chinese folk music and its influence on China's future music composition.
