The Semantic Category And Metaphoric Cognition Research Of "rain" Word Group

"Yu" word group is one of the semantic word groups in Chinese language.Its word-formation,semantic category and metaphorical cognitive mode reflect the cognitive pattern of human mind.This paper probes into the semantic categories and metaphorical cognitive characteristics of simple words,compound words,set phrases and idiomatic expressions in the "Yu" word group,and discusses their cultural connotations.Based on the theory of Chinese lexicology,this paper classifies the simple words in "Yu" word group into two categories:monosyllables and disyllables.Monosyllabic simple words are created by the way of "liushu(the six categories of Chinese characters)".This paper probes into the meaning of words from the angle of glyph.Disyllabic simple words are divided into three kinds:onomatopoeia words,duplicative words and conjunctive words.The classification of semantic categories is based on word "Yu" and most words are natural existence related to "Yu"."Yu" is viewed as a kind of category symbol for simple words in "Yu" word group,no matter in terms of form or word formation,and its conceptual meaning is related to the meaning of "Yu" to different degrees.The formation of compound words in "Yu" word group is mainly attributive-head construction,in which the position of morpheme in words is flexible,and the semantic category has developed from the category of natural meaning to the category involving humanities,society and many other fields.Through the analysis of the metaphorical cognition of synthetic words,we can see that the metaphor based on body experience and social experience not only projects the traditional mode of thinking of the Han nationality,but also contains rich ideological and cultural connotations.The structure of idioms in "Yu" is more complex than that of compound words,which reflects the matured Chinese word-making mentality.The structure of idioms is also mainly in attributive-head relationship,and the semantic category of idioms extends to social,humanistic,and more abstract fields.The metaphorical cognitive analysis of idioms is based on the analysis of the whole meaning,which shows that people's cognition is characterized by the process of thinking from iconicity to ion.We describe and analyze the word formation,semantic category and metaphorical cognition of "Yu" word group.It not only reveals the development course of "Yu" word group,but also shows the development course of Chinese vocabulary and the cognitive characteristics of metaphor.
