Buddhism was introduced to China during the han dynasty.Buddhism put pressure on Confucianism. In order to counter the theory of Buddhism, the theory of song and Ming dynasties came into being. The theory of song and Ming dynasties opposed Buddhism in theory.Wang yangming was very important in the theory of song and Ming dynasties, which promoted the prosperity of Confucianism and weakened the influence of zen Buddhism. When wang yangming was first established,he was considered to be "Confucian on the surface and zen on the content".Critics and apologists had a political discussion, but there was no final conclusion."Buddhism and Taoism affirm the same Ultimate Real as Confucianism" said wang. This paper starts from three perspectives: return to the original source,Confucianism and Buddhism have a common origin and different structure.Wang yangming believed that the origin of Confucianism was the mind, that Confucianism and zen originated from the original substance of mind, and that Confucianism,Buddhism and heart were the three relations, thus avoiding the view that " A direct link between enlightenment and zen".At the same time, wang yangming made a theoretical analysis of zen Buddhism and made a criticism from the inside. His criticism points were theory, world view and methodology, which were different from those of his predecessors.
