Research On Wei Sanwei's "China General Theory"

The Middle Kingdom is one of the representative works of American sinologist Samuel Wells Williams.It is also the earliest and most authoritative sinology work in the United States.Through the systematic application of all kinds of materials and the integration of the research results of the predecessors,this monograph on Chinese studies,which represents the highest level at that time,was completed.It not only marks the beginning of American Sinology,but also reflects the characteristics of early American Sinology research.This paper analyzes and evaluates the life experience of Samuel Wells Williams,the contents,characteristics,application of materials and academic achievements in The Middle Kingdom,which showed the academic value and achievement of it.
