Based on the systemic functional linguistics,the study reviews the ecological location of the 2008-2017 WMO Statement on the state of the Global Climate by analyzing the discourse's ecological meaning and the interaction between the language and environment.Through the analysis of the corpus,the author finds that the writer of WMO Statement on the state of the Global Climate mainly employs the beneficial discourse,which can exert positive impact on the construction of readers' individual ecosophy.Besides,the author certifies that the writer can achieve different language efforts through using different appraisal resources.Specifically,the appraisal resources contributes to the ecological meaning's achieving in the beneficial discourse,covers the destructive connotation in the destructive discourse and adds the controversial and critical characteristics in the ambivalent discourse.The study proves the extensive applicability of the appraisal theory,which can provide strong analyzing tools for the ecological discourse analysis,and provides relevant scholars with a new perspective to study the ecological meaning of public discourse. |
