Research On Consecutive Interpretation Of Chinese Characteristic Vocabulary From The Perspective Of Cultural Equivalence

This paper analyzes the keynote speech from 2017 to 2018 of the opening ceremony in Boao Forum for Asia.From the perspective of cultural equivalence,the problems in the interpretation of the words with Chinese characteristics can be divided into the following two categories: the cultural deficiency of the target language and the cultural misinterpretation of the target language.These problems can be concluded to the culture default in target language.From the perspective of cultural equivalence,in order to achieve the cultural equivalence of words with Chinese characteristics,interpreters can choose the principle of cultural equivalence.Following this principle,we can choose the following two translation strategies,“different form and similar meaning” and “similar form and similar meaning”.At the same time,it is necessary to carry out long-term cultural training for interpreters.Afterwards,the connotation of the words with Chinese characteristic can be better conveyed by the interpreters.Furthermore,the quality of interpretation can be improved,the national policies can be publicized accuratly,and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries can be promoted.
