Through investigated the research status of home and abroad,i found that usually analyze Bernard Catherin's painting will start from keys about the drawing structures such as minimalism,geometrization,spatialization.By virtue of the conscientiously study,i believe that drawing structures reflecting Catlin's personal style,which renders him apart from other artists and genres of his contemporary and does not belong to any one of the arts,but the geometrization in Catlin's paintings is not only a rational abstraction of modeling and space,his paintings containing the rich color matching and the abundant emotion expression due to he was influenced by Les Nabis,he has combined his feelings with the colors and using a style of painting that is between concretization and abstract to filtering and selecting what he saw according his understanding the objects.Utilizing a brush to expressing the subjective understanding of himself,the paintings conveying the painter's expression and also reflecting the artist's understanding of life,and life state as well as reflection of the self,Catherin is an artist who tries to combining art and life,and turns life into art and finally embodies the "lifestyle of art",his paintings is a true recording of natural life.This paper analyzed the characteristics of painting language Catherin's works such as color,form,content,and carried out research from two aspects:abstractness and emotional expression.A brief talk about Catherin's artistic expression and life concept by the combination of many aesthetic views,such as "artistic life" and "the life with art" and"the art with life" etc.
