The object of this paper is the dissemination,shaping and acceptance of Wu Zhen's painting fame and character image in Ming dynasty,which includes the process of establishing his status in painting history and the shaping of character image.The spread of Wu Zhen 's painting fame began in some Suzhou and Songjiang literati groups at the end of the Yuan dynasty and the beginning of the Ming dynasty.Although he did not directly participate in the elegant meeting(YaJi)at that time,the records of several important painters,literati,calligraphers and painting historians made his painting fame spread in a small scale initially,which laid the foundation for the next influence in the Painting of Wu School.In the middle of the Ming dynasty,Suzhou's culture revitalized gradually,and the calligraphy and painting treasures preserved in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties began to have an impact,nourishing the local painters.At that time,the works of Wu Zhen collected by collectors had a profound influence on the style of Liu Jue,the pioneer of Wu School,and Shen Zhou,the leader of School.Wu Zhen inherited from Ju Ran's painting concept had also been confirmed gradually,which led to the growth of his painting fameIn the late Ming dynasty,due to the establishment of Dong Qichang's theory"Northern and Southern School of Painting",Wu Zhen,as the special identity of the Southern School,especially the only direct descendant of Ju Ran,was listed in the Four Masters of the Yuan dynasty,and retained the status of ink painting in the history of painting,and became a target for Four Wangs to follow.At the same time,Wu Zhen 's character also rose with his status in the painting history.Writing local history and building Meihua An temple,these local discourse power deeply affected the construction of Wu Zhen's character image,which made Wu Zhen 's influence extend beyond the scope of painting history to the broader field of cultural history,and was traced back to the first of the Liuzhou Ci School.
