ZHANG Zisheng(1892-1967),whose another given name was Sen and style names were Jun Shuo,Zi Qiao and Shuo Yi,was a native of Shaoxing,Zhejiang.He was an editor,journalist and publisher in the Republic of China.1892 to 1936 can be regarded as an important stage of his life.During the period,he not only got to know LU Xun(ZHOU Shuren)and had contact with ZHOU from time to time,but also went to Shanghai,worked in The Commercial Press and Shun Pao,started to participate in the management of Kaiming Bookstore,and edited The Shun Pao Year Book(1933-1936)and Shun Pao·Free talking,making his own contributions to the development of modern Chinese publishing.The Shun Pao Year Book(1933-1936)were an important work during ZHANG Zisheng's editorial career.In 1932,Shun Pao Office took the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the publication of Shun Pao to issue Our hard work in the future on November 30.In it.Shun Pao Office drew up 12 effort plans,among which the 11th plan solemnly declared "The Shun Pao Year Book is being compiled.' In the next year,the first The Shun Pao Year Book that was compiled by different people's cooperation came out.The Shun Pao Year Book included not only current affairs and politics after the September 18th Incident,but also data and statistics on domestic economy,education,transportation and other aspects as well as general introductions of other countries.By 1936,Shun Pao Office had successively issued The Shun Pao Year Book for four times(Each year,ZHANG was the chief editor),with a total of more than 10 million Chinese characters.At present,there are few direct research works on ZHANG Zisheng and The Shun Pao Year Book in the academia.The focus of existing achievements is rarely innovative,the research direction has not been fully developed,the years researched are too concentrated,the historical data are scattered but considerable:There is room for further discussion.Therefore,the thesis takes ZHANG Zisheng and The Shun Pao Year Book(1933-1936)as the research object,which is divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,focusing on clarifying the research status and methods and paving the way for the following discussion.The second part outlines ZHANG's main experience from his birth in Shaoxing to his entry into Shun Pao Office in Shanghai in chronological order,which also involves ZHANG's contacts with LU xun and all kinds of works published during this period.The third part discusses the background and content of The Shun Pao Year Book,analyzes word frequency of event log and the advertisements in it,and compares it with The China Year Book from the perspective of the records of the September 18th Incident.The fourth part elaborates the influence of The Shun Pao Year Book edited by ZHANG from two views.The fifth part is the conclusion,which makes a brief analysis of ZHANG's experience before the full-scale Anti-Japanese War and the correlation between ZHANG and The Shun Pao Year Book.The sixth part is an appendix,covering the statistics related to the thesis and a concise chronicle of ZHANG Zisheng's early life(1892-1936)compiled by the author through collecting and sorting out historical materials.
