Thinking Of The "directness" In Direct Metal Sculpture

Direct metal sculpture,as a permanent basic course of sculpture department of Chinese academy of fine arts,is often considered as a technical course of single material.However,the significance of direct metal sculpture course is more than that.In the training of direct metal sculpture,our understanding and application of other materials can be expanded by thinking about materials,processing methods,expression and other issues.From the perspective of the author's long-term practice in direct metal sculpture,this paper makes an in-depth analysis and discussion on the concept of direct metal,the application of materials and processing methods,so as to expand the thinking from the creation of direct metal sculpture to the creation of sculpture made of other comprehensive materials.
