On Qian Zhongshu's Theory And Practice Of "Spring And Autumn Style"

As the "cultural kunlun" that has a thorough knowledge of both ancient and modem times and both at home and abroad as well as gets through literature,history and philosophy,Qian Zhongshu shows not only his rigorousness and calmness in academic study,but also his ingenuity in literary creation.His writings occupy an important position in China's academic history and history of literature.His dual identities of scholar and writer have formed great interactivity between academic study and literature creation and contained huge interpretation space.Qian Zhongshu often brings forth new ideas for literary study,especially the study of ancient Chinese literary theory because he not only endows vague terms with new concepts,but also creates new definitions for those familiar terms.“Chun-Qiu writing method”is an important one of the new definition.Originated from Chun Qiu by Confucius,uChun-Qiu writing method,has been regarded as a unique narrative technique and a discourse way with Chinese characteristic through constant interpretation of scholars,historians and literary theorists in generations.Starting from literary theories related to "Chun-Qiu writing method"by Qian Zhongshu,this paper probes into the interactive and interpenetrating relationship between them based on specific literary texts so as to approach and understand Qian Zhongshu,the one that gets through "writing" and "learning".This paper is composed of introduction,main body and conclusion.The introduction first elaborates the research origin and significance of this paper,then sums up the current research status of "Chun-Qiu writing method" in the academic world,points out deficiency of study on“Chun-Qiu writing method”of Qian Zhongshu,and specifies the paper's objective and thinking on this premise.The main body has four chapters.Chapter One gives the interpretation of "Chun-Qiu writing method" in both ancient and modern times and introduces the interpretation of"Chun-Qiu writing method" by Qian Zhongshu based on understanding the fact that the meaning of "Chun-Qiu writing method" evolves and develops with times,which lays theoretical foundation for following discussion of the creative practice of "Chun-Qiu writing method" by Qian Zhongshu.Starting with the most classic interpretation of "Chun-Qiu writing method",and combining with new interpretation of five cases of Chun Qiu of Du Yu,Chapter Two associates with the actual features of his literary creation to analyze and study practical rhetoric and narrative of "Chun-Qiu writing method" created by Qian Zhongshu based on"foreshadowing and distortion and protection","seeking meaning from words and truth from facts" and "truthfully,appropriate and detailed description without any embellishment".Based on the fact that the essence of "Chun-Qiu writing method" of Qian Zhongshu is a judgment of rhetoric,Chapter Three points out that“using parallelism to describe history" in Qian Zhongshu's literary creation shows the charm of rhetoric,among which the metaphor of"interpreting things by nearby objects" and "merely nominal" and the allusion of "interpreting out of text" and "doing things with nobody knows" have become important rhetoric ways to give commendatory or derogatory meanings.Chapter Four explores the impact and significance of "Chun-Qiu writing method" on Qian Zhongshu's creative style and explains its promotion role in the formation of implicit and refined writing style and humorous and ironic artistic style of Qian Zhongshu based on the writing features of "Chun-Qiu writing method" and "subliming words with deep meaning".In the conclusion part,the content of the four chapters is summarized,and then the research significance of this study is pointed out.Research methods of this paper involve interdisciplinary theoretical interpretation and places "Chun-Qiu writing method that belongs to ancient literary theory in modern context,which is conducive to the excavation of its effect and charm as a style with Chinese characteristic.
