Malaysian Social-dance music known as Ronggeng is a syncretic music.It was integrated with music culture of the Malay and Baba communities.The creation of folk music reflects the opinions,feelings,will and aspirations of the people.The research on the Ronggeng can further understand the Malaysia music that is enriched with multi-ethnic culture.In this research,the first chapter is the investigation on the origin of the Ronggeng and its development and changes in Malay society.The second chapter analyzes the artistic of the works such as mode,rhythm and musical form of three types Ronggeng dance-songs.The dance-songs include:Malay Asli,Inang and Joget.The third chapter is the analysis of three representative work of each dance-song Seri Mersing,Mak Inang and Jinkli Nona,on their singing performance techniques such as breathing,vocal articulation,enunciation and expression.The same chapter also includes the conclusion on how these characteristics define an ideal stage performance. |
