In recent years,a large number of export-oriented grass paintings have returned to China.People began to pay attention to these “small pictures”,which were born in Guangzhou one or two hundred years ago.It is very similar to postcards.The theme of through-the-grass paintings is very wide,and many social life can be seen at that time.Silhouettes,it is worth noting that a group of funeral rituals were found in the grass-painting paintings made in Guangzhou,Europe and the United States,and the rituals in the funeral customs were carefully depicted.Before the popularity of cameras and cameras,people mostly recorded important events by depicting the scenes of life.These daily life etiquettes were the blueprints of the painters to depict the life at that time.Mastering these rituals can better understand the work and restore life at that time.This paper takes the funeral ceremonial map in the through-the-grain painting as an example to analyze the connection and difference between the character portrayal in the funeral ceremonial map and the traditional Chinese figure painting.Subsequently,the analysis explored the performance of Western art style and cultural concepts in the through-the-grass painting.Finally,it analyzes the differences and causes of the view of life and death in the West.Through the comparison of Chinese and Western funeral paintings,it explores the different representations of Chinese and Western views on life and death in paintings.Through the study of the artistic characteristics of the fusion of Chinese and Western paintings in Tongcao,this paper explores the analysis of the funeral customs expressed in the funeral ceremonies and the changes and significance of the social concepts reflected.In traditional Chinese concepts,death is extremely taboo,and there are rare funeral objects in Chinese traditional paintings.It reflects the cultural exchanges and trade between China and the West during this period,and meets the curiosity of foreigners in the East.It may also be The Western art and the Western concept of life and death brought by Western missionaries at that time led to the change of people's ideas.At the same time,the funeral etiquette map also has important reference value for studying the social life and funeral customs in the Guangfu area of the late Qing Dynasty.
