As the leader of the official,the prime minister leads to changes in the core of the regime,and the time and term of their appointment will have an important impact on politics.In the Tang Dynasty,some officials served as prime ministers more tlian once in their lives.Such prime ministers could be called "re-elected prime ministers."Through the exploration of the number of prime ministers in the Tang Dynasty,the time of their entry and resignation,the factors affecting the reinstatement,the significance of the re-election and the positions before and after the reinstatement,we can better understand the political issues related to the Tang Dynasty.The article makes a detailed statistics on the status of the positions of prime ministers in the Tang Dynasty.Based on tlie historical records and the results of todays research,the total number of prime ministers and the total number of prime ministers in the Tang Dynasty were calculated by quantitative analysis,the total frequency of the prime ministers and the fi equency of the re-elected prime ministers in the Tang Dynasty were calculated,the most frequent periods of the prime ministers reinstatement in the Tang Dynasty were summarized and briefly analyzed.The period of Wu Zetian,Zhongzong and Ruizong was the most concentrated period of the prime minister's reinstatement.In addition,the reinstatement of the prime ministers during the period from Muzong to Wuzong and the period from Xizong to Zhaozong was iriore frequent.There are many reasons for the reinstatement of thl prime minister in the Tang Dynasty.There are institutional factors,political factors,personal factors,and other factors.The prime minister system in the Tang Dynasty and other related systems reserved space for the reinstateecmnt of the prime minister,the political changes and the competition for central power often caused the fact that certain prime ministers were reinstated,the emperor's employment policy and personal performance of the prime minister also caused certain influence.From the perspective of the position of the re-elected prime minister,the positions held during the prire minister's resignation,the length of time,the number of position changes,and the positions they held after their reinstatement clearly reflected their political career.Their position changes show a certain regularity,that is,no matter how they experience during their resignation,once they become prime ministers again,most of them have gradually increased their ranks on the basis of the previous entry.The reinstatement of the prime minister has both positive and negative effects on the politics of the Tang Dynasty.The positive impacts include:helping the prime ministers to fully play their role,helping to ensure the continuity of policies and helping to ease the contradictions within the core of power.The negative influences mainly include:easy to lead to party struggle and easy to cause policy to remain unchanged.The mainly innovation of the article is that adopting the research method of metrological history.Based on the comprehensive collection of historical materials,the status of position of the prime ministers of the Tang Dynasty are carefully counted and analyzed,the topic of the re-elected prime minister in the Tang Dynasty is systematically studied,and then the reasons and impact of the prime minister's reinstatement are revealed.
