Since the birth of oil painting,it is like adding a language.However,the color blocks and materials are like "notes" jumping in the picture to coordinate and unify the rhythm of the whole picture,and finally show our cognitive state of the times in the picture.How to maintain the balance and tension of the picture with the help of the arrangement of color blocks and the combination of materials is an insurmountable stage in the current art learning and creation.According to the author's creative experience and continuous attempts to use materials during his personal graduate school,this paper expresses his own views: the arrangement of color blocks and the superposition of materials are two language ways of painting creation.The role of color in the picture is obvious and hard to guess.Its predictive function and harmonic performance arpersonal emotions.The use of materials adds variable factors to the picture.If the arrangement of color blocks is a rational activity,the use of materials is full of perceptual colors.From classical to contemporary,the combination of color blocks and materials in every period has the background characteristics of that era.How to use the two major notes of color block arrangement and material application to internalize the reality and then create accurate externalization.The artist needs to grasp and use their scales to maintain the balance and harmony of the rhythm of the picture.If he can ultimately accurately express his cognition of the times and express his personal views,then any "note"(color block,material)in the picture is a language technique,and the expression is the expression finally presented in the picture.
