Research On Yuan Xiao's "Harmony" Thought

Wonhyo is one of the greatest Buddhist philosopher in Korean peninsula.He devoted himself to the development of Buddhism throughout his life,was proficient in the thoughts of many factions,such as Huayan,Tiantai,Vijnaptim(?)trat(?)(??),and so on.apart from this he also explained Buddhist classics.So he got the name of "the Load of the hundred theories".From the nature of these treatises,Wonhyo does not focus on a particular sect or faction,but interprets each sect in a "perfectly fair" position.From his writings,Wonhyo was able to understand and contradict the contradictory viewpoints at the time.His view is called "harmonizing-disputes"(??)which originated from Wonhyo's claim on the internal disputes of Buddhism and had a deep experience of the social environment and Buddhist disputes at that time.After research,he finally formed unique philosophical ideological system.This article focuses on Wonhyo's interpretation of "Awakening of Mahayana Faith"(?????),explores the expression of "harmonizing-disputes" in these books and analyzes the meaning and logical structure of the theory.At the beginning of the twentieth century,the Sino-Japanese academic circles to "Awakening of Mahayana Faith" what is India or China had made pose,and there was a wave of research on the authenticity of it.This article will not repeat the controversial aspects,such as authenticity.Mainly based on its ethical research,because its content basically laid the theoretical foundation of Chinese Buddhism,and it has a profound impact on Huayan,Tiantai,and Chan.As a high-profile treatise,there have been countless notes on it since ancient times.Among them,Wonhyo,Hui Yuan,and Fazang's commentary on this book is called "Three kinds of notes on the theory of faith".This article focuses on Wonhyo's interpretation of the book,the first chapter discusses Wonhyo's life and background,analyzes the important external reasons for the formation of his philosophical system,and investigates whether Wonhyo entered the Tang dynasty.On this basis,it discusses about the definition and the factional background with logical structure of the "harmonizing-disputes" in academia;The second chapter is based on the structure of "two theories one heart"(????),which discusses Wonhyo resolved the author's mistakes in the "Awakening of Mahayana Faith"based on different versions of the "Lankavatara Sutra"(?????).On this basis,"harmonizing-disputes" theory is embodied in reconciling the contradiction between "empty" and "being" between madhyamika(??)and Vijnaptimatrata.Wonhyo also has his own unique cognition of "Alaya-consciousness"(????);The third chapter is based on the theory of "kunj(?)"(??),and analyzes the"m(?)shin kunsh(?)"(????)in new translation of Vijnaptimatrata and the"Bh(?)tatathat(?) kunj(?)"(????)in the "Awakening of Mahayana Faith".It is concluded that the difference between the two is whether "Bh(?)tatathat(?)"(??)can become the "shokun" and "n(?)kun".After clarifying the two,analyze how Wonhyo reconciled the two opposing theories,and the "harmonizing-disputes"view that embodies "Numerous rivers return to the sea,many contradictions are subsided";The fourth chapter analyzes the characteristics of"harmonizing-disputes" and its influence in history,and evaluates the thought of"harmonizing-disputes" from the induction of influence and characteristics.
