Simulated Practice Report Of English-Chinese Simultaneous Interpretation Under The Sentence-driven Strategy

In today's world,technology develops fast,and mobile phone launch conferences have attracted worldwide attention.At the press conference,simultaneous interpretation is applied in order to improve work efficiency and ensure the smooth running of the meeting.Due to the big differences between English and Chinese language structures,interpreters must adopt the strategy of syntactic linearity to properly segment and integrate the complex English structures in order to maintain a fast interpreting speed.In this Simulated Simultaneous Interpretation of Apple's Fall2019 New Product Launch Conference,the interpreters use a series of methods under the strategy of syntactic linearity,such as segmentation,repetition,conversion,and supplementation.They focused on solving the difficult problems of interpreting attributive clauses,adverbial clauses,prepositional structures and passive structures.By using these strategies,the interpreter can improve the interpreting speed and quality during the interpreting process.But there are still some deficiencies that require interpreters to reflect and analyze.This practice report further analyzes the application of syntactic linearity strategies in simultaneous interpretation.
