| De Stijl as one of the abstract art movements in the early twentieth century from Netherlands,depicts a kind of the Utopian ideal.According to the specific events of the movement and the comments of the artists,my research shows the De Stijl’s artistic concepts,social activities and important influences.First,sort out the overall development of European abstract art in the early twentieth century and position De Stijl in time and space.Afterwards,with the artistic concepts of the movement and the activities of the members as the theme,discuss its spiritual background,formation process,reasons for demise,etc.And deeply analyzes the concepts of "De Stijl","Neo-Plasticism" and "Elementarism",focus on the diversion of De Stijl and the subsequent activities of the two.Finally,from the perspective of the profound influence of De Stijl in the fields of architecture,design and abstract art,discuss the utopian ideal embodied by the movement in the implementation and practice of its streamlined and universal artistic concept. |
