Teachers' professional abilities have given new meanings and new requirements in the new curriculum reform.The teaching design concept of people-oriented and learner-centered was brought forward under the guidance of the new new curriculum reform."National English Curriculum Standards for General High Schools(2017 edition)" emphasizes that the design and implementation of senior high school English curriculum should be conducive to mobilizing students' learning potential and optimizing students' learning methods.English teaching activities in any way are inseparable from instructional design,and instructional design also has new and high requirements on the professional level and comprehensive quality of designers.Novice teachers and experienced teachers,as the starting point and advanced stage of teacher development,have significant differences in their classroom teaching design and implementation.This research focuses on the following issues:(1)What are the differences in classroom teaching design between high school English novice teachers and experienced teachers from perspective of teaching goals,teaching processes,teaching strategies,teaching techniques,teaching evaluation,teaching reflection and corrective feedback ?(2)What are the reasons for the differences?(3)Suggestions for practical classroom teaching that are conducive to the joint progress of novice teachers and experienced teachers.This thesis investigates and compares the classroom teaching design and teaching design schemes(teaching plans)of senior high school English novice teachers and experienced teachers in three middle schools in Wanzhou by means of questionnaire,interviews,classroom observations,and text analysis.The research results show that there are the following similarities and differences in the design and implementation of classroom teaching between novice teachers and experienced teachers in high school.The similarities are:(1)In terms of teaching goals,the two types of teachers have a single set of teaching goals,and cannot take into account the development of different classroom teaching goals in different fields.(2)In terms of teaching technology,both types of teachers will use PPT,computer,blackboard and chalks.(3)In terms of teaching evaluation,both types of teachers will useoral methods to evaluate students' classroom performance and formative evaluation to evaluate students' learning effects.The differences are as follows:(1)In terms of teaching goals,students can be described as the principal part,also can be regarded as the centre in the experienced teachers' description of teaching goals in the teaching design,while novice teachers cannot realize that students are the central point of teaching activities.The novice teachers' teaching goals just present the expected results of students learning.Nevertheless 1/3 experienced teachers can use measurable behavioral verbs in the writing of their teaching goals,while novice teachers use more general and abstract words.(2)In terms of the teaching process,compared with experienced teachers,novice teachers will strictly follow the 3P model in the teaching process of reading lessons.The introduction methods are novel and diversified,and the topics of classroom discussion are very close to the actual and real life of students.(3)In terms of teaching strategies,the management strategies of experienced teachers are used successfully compared with novice teachers,while compared with experienced teachers,the motivation strategies of novice teachers are used effectively.(4)In terms of teaching technology,novice teachers mostly use PPT and computers to present videos,pictures and animations,while experienced teachers just use PPT as a substitute for blackboards to present the key content of classroom teaching.(5)In terms of teaching reflection and revision feedback,novice teachers will reconsider their teaching methods and teaching arrangements based on students' classroom performance in the teaching summary section,while experienced teachers will do not.According to the revised feedback,only one-third of the novice teachers will sort out the points that need to be supplemented and explained in the next lesson based on their own reflection,and adjust the content of the subsequent lessons accordingly.To sum up,the following suggestions are put forward for novice teachers and experienced teachers: For novice teachers:(1)Novice teachers need to establish more clear educational motivations and development goals.(2)In addition to receiving professional education and training before entry,novice teachers need to prepare lesson carefully,continually revise curriculum design and finally give a lesson publicly before a public class,and seriously find out the insufficiency of classroom teaching after class.(3)Set up a practical platform for cooperation and communication between novice teachers and experienced teachers.(4)Conduct training on instructional design and teach theoretical and practical knowledge of instructional design.For experienced teachers:(1)Carry out the same class competition activities between experienced teachers and novice teachers.(2)Experienced teachers should learn more from the classroom teaching of expert teachers.(3)Experienced teachers should follow the pace of the times to learn the latest subject teaching ideas,teaching methods and teaching methods.
