George Gershwin(1898.9.26-1937.7.11),"an outstanding representative composer of American national characteristics,was born in a Russian Jewish immigrant family in Brooklyn,New York City.Gershwin has been pursuing music with American characteristics all his life.The professionalization of jazz is his greatest success and has made great contribution to the development of American music.The three piano preludes are the only solo works created by Gershwin in his mature personal style.These three preludes have typical jazz style in form,rhythm and melody,and use the genre form of "prelude".Therefore,the works have certain research significance in both creation and performance.Therefore,this paper will take the music culture in the early 20 th century as the background,analyze the music style and performance skills of Gershwin's Three Piano Preludes,and discuss the influence of jazz music characteristics such as blues on the repertoire.And through the discussion of this paper,it can provide some angle and reference for the researchers of Gershwin's music,so that piano learners can better understand and play Gershwin's works.
