Kennedy administration's Policy toward south Vietnam followed the policy of containing communism expand in the Cold War,it inherited from Eisenhower's policy toward Vietnam,it had unique features.The Kennedy administration carried out the counterinsurgency plan,and transit the advisory relationship to the partner relationship.The Kennedy administration escalated the intervene level.After the Counterinsurgency plan had achieved some results,the Kennedy Government made the gradually retreat plan.Ngo Dinh Diem regime refused to democratization,highly centralized power,corruption and degeneration,limited the freedom of speech,social contradiction intensified,so it caused the Buddhist Crisis of 1963.The Buddhist Crisis made the Kennedy administration listed the political reform as the U.S.assistance's necessary condition,but Ngo dinh diem absolutely resisted political reform.So,it made Kennedy government drew a conclusion that if they couldn't overthrew Ngo dinh Diem,the South Vietnam couldn't defeated the Vietcong.Eventually,Kennedy administration had to support the coup clique,plotted the coup and overthrew the Ngo dinh diem regime.
