in recent years,marathons have become popular all over the world.The reasons are low cost,strong mass base,significant social effect and so on.City related event organizing departments and their responsible officials have deeply recognized its positive impact on the development of the city.The event will not only bring together leaders of various industries in a short period of time,but also drive the rapid development of the local economy.Promoting the continuous improvement of local infrastructure can also promote popular participation and stimulate the rapid rise of the local sports industry.On March 26,2014,the China Athletics Association approved the holding of a marathon in Guiyang.So far,Guiyang has held four consecutive international marathons.In order to further clarify the positive impact of the Guiyang Marathon on the city and to find out the deficiencies in the course of the event,It is necessary to carry out a comprehensive and systematic study on the current situation of Guiyang International Marathon.This paper adopts many research methods,such as literature,questionnaire,interview,field investigation and mathematical statistics.The present situation of Guiyang International Marathon from 2015 to 2017 was investigated and studied.By means of the number of entries,the number of people who finished the race at each time point,the award and project setting of the competition,the setting up of the referee and volunteer team,The overall satisfaction of the contestants to the event and the impact of the marathon on the city are studied and analyzed,and the following conclusions are reached through the analysis of the current situation of the development of the Guiyang Marathon:1.Since the International Marathon in Guiyang was held in 2014,the scale of its competition has been continuously expanded,and its performance,competition brand value and reputation have been greatly improved.But the organization and management of the whole marathon is not very mature,and the number of entries fluctuates greatly.2.Most of the contestants recognized the work of the organizing committee of Guiyang International Marathon,but some of the participants said that the propaganda before the race was not enough,the track turned back too much,and the traffic was heavy after the race.3.The holding of Guiyang International Marathon has great influence on Guiyang's consumption,citizen's fitness,environmental consciousness and basicfacilities construction.4.The market development of Guiyang International Marathon has not achieved good results,lack of physical products with Guiyang characteristics;competition bonuses have been greatly reduced;the design of the track has not been integrated with the city characteristics of Guiyang;the event has been set up in a single way.Lack of interest.5.the Guiyang International Marathon is jointly organized by the government and the enterprises.The government is the organizer.The cooperation between the government and the enterprises has achieved some results,but it ignores the leading role of the market.We should give full play to the leading role of the market,improve the brand effect of Guiyang International Marathon.
