A Case Analysis Of The Defensive Skills And Tactics Of The Women's Basketball Team Of Qinghai Normal University In The 19th CUBA Northwest Division Championship And Runner-up Finals

Founded in 1987,the women basketball team of Qinghai Normal University has won numerous rewards under the effort of the coach and the hard work of the players over the past three decades.Since 1978,the team has won the championship of CUBA's northwest division for 16 times,and won the second place in the national finals of the CUBA twice.In 2008,the team won the second place in the Basketball Game of Goodwill Games for College Students.In 2010,it won the first place in the31^st World University Basketball Championship.In 2017,it won a bronze medal for Qinghai delegation,beating several strong teams in the basketball match of the 13^thh National Student Sports Games of the People's Republic of China.In September,2017,it won the third place in the Finals of 3X3 FISU World University League sponsored after beating Hungary team by a landslide.As can be seen from the above honors,the women's basketball team of Qinghai Normal University is a competitive team,and the players have made great contributes to the development of Chinese women'basketball games,and also won a great many honors for the school and China.However,as the contest of students'basketball game becomes more intense,people gradually realize the problem exposed on defense system.For example,the aggressiveness and activeness of defense is not enough,the footsteps are not stable enough,the movement is slow,the awareness of filling in and assisting the defense is not strong,and the defense tactic is single,etc.All these problems hinder the progress of defense tactics in the students'basketball game.All in all,it is very necessary to ponder over the women's basketball contests in northwest competition area during the19^th CUBA.The women basketball team from Qinghai Normal University has remarkable performances in the 19^th CUBA,especially their performance regarding the defense tactics.They can make a model example for the future development of women's basketball in Qinghai Normal University and contribute a firm ground for them.In order to collect and analyze data about the team's defensive skills and the tactical characteristics in the 19th CUBA Northwest Division,the paper makes use of videos,literature,statistics and comparison methods to find out advantages and disadvantages of each game,so as to provide reference for future competitions.It is concluded that the Women Basketball Team of Qinghai Normal University follow the defensive principle of“main defense by marking opponents and giving consideration to players and ball”in the aspect of individual defensive skills.They also constantly use the means of block shot,surprise attack and pressing defense to stop,steal or interfere with the opponents from passing,dribbling or shooting,which may bring constant turnover to the opponents.The perimeter players give tight pressing defense,while the post players double-team the opponents and steal the ball.They often use flexible defensive tactics such as bypassing,squeezing,passing,stealing,blocked shot,shutting the gate,filling-in,double-team and switching,to successfully defend the fierce offensive of opponents and obtain the possession of the ball from them.They actively race to control the vantage point,cut off the offensive route of opponents,and prevent the opponents from moving to the favorable area for coordination,taking a pass,driving and shooting.In addition,they can timely grasp the opponents'attacking intentions and characteristics and adjust their own defensive skills and tactics based on the opponents'performance on the court,which reflects the practicality,flexibility and comprehensiveness of their defensive skills and tactics.In terms of the tactical coordination of zone defense by the Women Basketball Team of Qinghai Normal University,the tactics they adopt,such as 1-2-2 joint defense,2-3joint defense,3-2 joint defense and full-court 2-2-1 joint defense,can effectively contain the fierce attack of the opponents.This not only increases the comprehensiveness of defensive tactics for the whole team,but also improves the joint defense tactics such as passing,squeezing and skills and tactics such as assisted defense,joint defense,double team and close defense of Qinghai Normal University are formed,which take the possession of the ball as the objective,and combine with a variety of tactics for innovation and improvement.
