“Existence” is an unavoidable topic in every era.People not only exist,but also realize their existence.The existence of man depends on the reality of the economic,political,and social development of the time.In the current of the pluralistic axiology and nihilism,people are generally suffering from the crisis of faith and the existential insecurity brought about by the sense of loss.For contemporary college students,in the face of heavy learning,unfamiliar interpersonal interactions,and fast-paced,fragmented lifestyles,they often experience various emotions such as tension,grief,fear,emptiness and anxiety.In recent years,college campuses have committed suicide and malicious attacks,which has made the existence of college students very worrying.The traditional researches mainly investigate and analyze the uneasiness psychology of college students from the perspectives of psychology,medicine and sociology.But in the transition from the "hidden anxiety age" to the "dominant anxiety age",In the face of the individual existential anxiety caused by fate and death,common value dilemma and sense of loss,It is impossible to solve the problem by the simple technical reason,but to grasp the structure of human existence.There is a clear understanding of the nature of anxiety,and then we can find ways to deal with uneasiness,and help college students better grasp the survival of the individual in an uneasy time.This thesis is divided into five parts: introduction and four chapters.The introduction mainly explains the reasons of the topic selection,the significance of the topic,the relevant research status at home and abroad,the basic research ideas and research methods.The first chapter is the concept definition.Western philosophy and psychology scholars have done a lot of research on the concept of "existential anxiety",and have achieved fruitful results.In contrast,there is still relatively little research on "survival anxiety" in China.Based on this,the writer mainly elaborates on the connotation,types,significance,characteristics from the Western scholars’ discussion.The second chapter discusses the typical representation of college students’ existential anxiety.This paper summarizes the four aspects of college students’ study,interpersonal communication,meaning of life and social behavior.First of all,it points out the uneasiness caused by the loss of self-identity in studies.This part explains the secularization and mediocrityof the university,which is far from the purpose of the university.A college degree is no longer tied directly to future identity and work.College students are confused about "what kind of person they should be" and "the meaning of the university".Secondly,it expounds the uneasiness in interpersonal communication of college students,which mainly shows that in the multi-value society,college students may encounter conflicts in interpersonal communication and the consequent anxiety.Then it discusses the confusion of college students’ lives and the emptiness of their existence.The author thinks that this is the most typical expression of college students’ existential anxiety,and it is also a kind of inner experience that college students often encounter to threaten their existence.Finally,it is stated that the apathy and behavior shown by college students in society is mainly affected by the spirit of self-preservation in the current era.Noble moral behavior may threaten one’s own life.This makes them feel uneasy about the two options of noble moral behavior and self-protection.The third chapter discusses the influencing factors of college students’ existential anxiety.This chapter mainly consists of four parts.First,from the aspects of the loss of educational significance,the confusion and emptiness of contemporary college students,and the self-identity crisis of college students,the lack of meaning of university students’ survival and the frustrations in their studies,interpersonal relations and employment have made it difficult for them to establish their self-identity.,And is deeply anxious about this.Second,the spread of liberalism.Free societies give college students more autonomy and anxiety about unknown risks and challenges.Meanwhile,the multiple choices of value brought about by freedom make college students uneasy about seeking common values in interpersonal communication.Finally,the prevalence of relativism.In theory and practice,relativism is a free choice of standards and norms based on personal wishes,resulting in nihilism of value and anomie of values,which has caused confusion and anxiety for college students’ moral choice.This chapter mainly includes four aspects.First of all,find the meaning of life.People who know how to survive can live well.College students should actively explore the meaning of life,and the exploration of the meaning of life should not be confined to such conceptual propositions as “contemplation”and“meditation”,but should be sought in the practice of actively participating in life.Second,establish self-identity.College students are in the critical period of self-identity formation,and the establishment of self-identity can help them betterunderstand themselves and find the direction and meaning of life.Third,cultivate students’ courage to face up to anxiety.As a kind of common emotional experience,college students can’t escape from the present situation,when anxiety comes,face to face with the courage to accept the situation of anxiety,and eliminate the worries of anxiety.Chapter four,return to classical freedom education.Classical education aims to cultivate the whole personality and human nature and guide students to pursue truth and kindness.In the day of the value and the spread of relativism,rank order is broken,the value of facing the conflicts between different value,the classical liberal education for the pursuit of "good" and "excellent virtue" how can we choose to live,comfort caused by disorder of value and value conflicts anxiety and pain.
