Writing instruction is the most important part of Chinese teaching content,however,in our country,it has been spent a lot of energy to improve the teaching effect and unfortunately it turns out to be useless.Students hate writing as well as teachers,the word of "writing is unteachability"becomes main current.In 1960s,with the development of cognitive psychology and practical linguistics in western countries,the rise of the Process Approach has proved lots of writing models.For a long time,the Product Approach dominates the writing instruction in our country,the situation of it only pays attention to the product of writing leading to the failure of the writing instruction.Therefore,if we can examine the writing instruction of Chinese high school from the perspective of the Process Approach,it will provide a new direction for the reform of writing instruction.This research consists of three main parts:Firstly,from the relationship between the Process Approach and the process teaching in high school,affirming the writing should have complete process;clarifying the definition of the students' composition and general writing.Through reading and studying the theoretical basis and general model of the Process Approach,fully understand the characteristics and principles of the Process Approach.Secondly,compares the effect of the Product Approach and the Process Approach in specific teaching,with the materials collected by observational method,questionnaires and interviews.Results shows that:(1)analyzes the Product Approach leads to the poor writing efficiency and little interest in writing;(2)analyzes the impact of the lack of writing process:the lack of pre-writing makes students ambiguity in the writing purpose and have difficulty in choosing the writing material;during the process of drafting,the lack of process guidance leads to the students' bad writing habits and the teachers comments turns out to be outdated.the lack of the reviewing makes students lose the awareness of reviewing,can't solve the problems effectively and have no sense of "good composition";the lack of publishing discourages the students' enthusiasm of writing and weaken the function of the samples.(3)Discuss the result,both the Product Approach and the Process Approach has advantages and disadvantages,summarize the reasons of the lacking process:teachers lack of the awareness of the process guidance;students lose the principal status;the pressure of college entrance examination compress the time of teaching.Lastly,aims at these limitations,concludes some points:take too long time to finish a writing practice;high quality requirements for teachers and students;the writing model becomes rigid quickly.At the same time,throw out some suggestions:creat writing situation,pay more attention to the feedback and correction of teaching;set up writing uint,practice writing by stages;set mini class,combine the reading and writing diversifiedly.
