"3 to 6 year old children's learning and development guide" points out that early childhood is an important period of oral language development,and should pay attention to children's understanding and expression ability.Preschool stage is a critical period for language rehabilitation of hearing impaired children.Language education of hearing impaired children in China also follows the "3 to 6 year old children's learning and development guide" goals about understand and express speech.As a systematic rescue project,rehabilitation of children with hearing impairment is highly valued by the government.Vocabulary is not only the cornerstone of language development,but also plays an important role in hearing impaired children's language proficiency assessment.So this study try to explore the development of vocabulary characteristics of hearing-impaired children,provide some reference for the hearing-impaired children's language education.Based on the analysis of literature at home and abroad,this study divides vocabulary proficiency into two parts:the level of receptive vocabulary and the level of expressive vocabulary.This classification is also consistent with the language research of hearing impaired children at home and abroad.In addition,the researcher through two dimensions,quantity and quality,to examine the level of receptive vocabulary and the level of expressive vocabulary.The researcher selected 32 4—5 year old hearing impaired children and 32 4—5 year old children to compare the difference of vocabulary proficiency.There was no significant difference in age and intelligence between the two groups of children.At the same time,the researcher designed a series of test tools to study vocabulary level of the two groups of children:through the test of PPVT-R and Chinese children's vocabulary semantic test(receptive)to investigate the receptive level of vocabulary;through the test of EVT and Chinese children's vocabulary semantic test(expression)to investigate the expression level of vocabulary.In order to know vocabulary teaching methods of hearing impaired children,the researcher conducted classroom observation and teacher interviews.The study found that:(1)As for vocabulary level,children with hearing impairment is lower than that of normal children,but some of them have reached the average.(2)The gap between expressive vocabulary of two group children is small,but there is significant difference in receptive vocabulary.(3)The level of expressive vocabulary was higher than that of understanding vocabulary.(4)As for expressive vocabulary level,children with hearing impairment pursuit of quantity and lack of emphasis on application.Accordingly,the researcher put forward the following suggestions:(1)pay attention to hearing impaired children's language comprehension,teaching the meaning of the word in combination with the situation.(2)not only pay attention to the accumulation of vocabulary,but also expand the lexical category,enrich the meaning of the vocabulary,the quality of the vocabulary is equal.(3)set up the correct language education concept,change the vocabulary teaching methods,promote hearing impaired children oral expression and application of vocabulary in communication.
