The development of Internet technology has made the living space of traditional media smaller and smaller.County-level media are mainstream media that have direct contact with the grassroots.However,they face two major problems:slow technological updates and rapid audience churn.General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed that "the county-level based media convergence center should be well established to better guide the people and serve the people." The construction of based media convergence center is an important part of China’s media convergence development design:The work is of great significance.The Central Propaganda Department requires that by the end of 2020,based media convergence centers should be nationally achieved.This study is based on a 2019 postgraduates’summer field research from Journalism and Communication School of Minzu University of China University’s which contains 12 counties in 7 provinces in Chinese ethnic areas and finds that county-level based media convergence center faces insufficient funding and manpower.In production of news,excessive attention is paid to the reporting of policy news,which is far from the actual needs of the grassroots.However,ethnic regions have rich historical and cultural resources,which provide conditions for the development of county-level based media convergence centers and narrow the psychological distance between county-level media and the grassroots.The Specifications for the Construction of County-level Based Media Convergence Center issued by the Central Propaganda Department gives specific instructions on the functional requirements of it:support for various spiritual and cultural services.Characteristic culture is an innate advantage of the construction of county-level based media convergence centers in ethnic regions,which has played an important role in enriching the content of county-level based media convergence centers,enhancing the grassroots’ stickiness to them,and enhancing national cohesion and pride.In fact,the cultural communication of the county-level based media convergence center does not operate in isolation,but the internal and external cultural communication of media convergence center is full of competition and interaction.This is what Pierre Bourdieu calls the field theory.This research will take the semi-structured interview method,content analysis method,questionnaire survey method,and non-participatory observation method in a total of four research methods,combined with Bourdieu’s field theory,to systematically examine the competition of cultural communication fields in the media convergence center.Firstly,the introduction mainly describes the background,significance of the research,relevant literature review,research theory and methods.Secondly,the second chapter defines the core concepts.Thirdly,Chapters 3 and 4 carry out a systematic study of the cultural dissemination of county-level based media convergence centers in ethnic regions according to Bourdieu’s field theory.The third chapter analyzes the characteristics of cultural dissemination between the internal activists and cultural dissemination,and then analyzes the structural relationship between cultural dissemination in other fields.The fourth chapter analyzes the cultural dissemination of county-level based media convergence centers in ethnic regions in the practice of competition from three aspects:the subject of competition,the means of competition,and the logic of competition.Finally,the reflection on the cultural communication of county-level based media convergence under the influence of various fields is extended from the current situation research to how the county-level based media convergence centers can better conduct cultural communication in different field competitions.
