| This paper investigates the practical requirements of asset and laboratory management, and designs a low-value supplies management system. This system is implemented by using the web-based B/S structure, which is capable of providing the services on purchasing and intelligent management of laboratory low-value supplies. This system main implements the functionalities of online registration and management of low-value supplies,as well as a variety of inquiry and report printing features. This system provides all company staff members with online low-value supplies management, and therefore can save a considerable amount of labor and material cost during the management of low-value supplies, significantly improving supplies management efficiency. This work is based on an analysis of the practical requirements of the Overseas of Chinese Vocational School, and complies with the school’s regulation rules and procedures on low-value supplies management. With a final objective of designing and implementing an efficient low-value supplies management systems, this paper presents a thorough description about the basic functionalities, system architecture, and security strategy of the management system to be implemented. This paper starts with an investigation on the research background and motivation and the current progress of related work, then provides a detailed analysis on all aspects of system design, including functional requirements, system architecture, functional modules, strategy and database design, and further uses modularized design to implement the low-value supplies management system. The main functionalities of the designed system mainly include low-value supplies purchasing, invoice management, reimbursement management, and other frequently used system management functionalities.During the development of this system, agile development and test-driven development methods are employed. As long as an individual module would be put into use as long as it has been completed.Relying on users’ feedbacks to further improve system quality, the entire system can be accomplished through several rounds of revisions. |
